Wonderful stay and a great property for a large family gathering. We loved the proximity to the beach (very short walk) and the beautiful sunsets on the deck. The hot tub was great after a day in the ocean.

Wonderful stay. Two families with kids and we had an effortlessly amazing time. The house is large with great amenities (gourmet kitchen, hot tub, vintage pinball machine). The beach across the way was a revelation; we actually stopped exploring beaches elsewhere on the island because we liked the one in front of the house so much. Very quiet, beautiful surroundings, and lots of ways for the kids to enjoy themselves. The tide coming in and out also creates an interesting tidal channel with current. It’s not dangerous (young kids need supervision) but for any swimmers it’s essentially a natural swimming treadmill, which was pretty unique. Sheldon was a great host - was very responsive with great suggestions for local spots.

Our large group loved not worrying about the small stuff...that seems to take up the most space when packing ie toiletries, detergents, towels, sand toys etc. Blue Heron is on an amazing bay where you can experience the tides first hand. Our walks when tides were low were a family highlight! our 3yr Granddaughter was excited to report one morning.."Look Papa the Ocean is BACK!!????The location is great for day trips ,shops and restaurants. Fresh seafood was in abundance in Summerside, not far! Communication from begining to end was always very prompt and courteous.There was a small library and a selection of puzzles and games we enjoyed Sand toys, beach chairs and even kites to fly were available and well used!Thank you again!Many family memories to be enjoyed for years to come!

Great communication from the moment we booked until the moment we checked out. The house was fully equipped, including a gourmet kitchen set up. The home itself is very special in that it is great for larger family stays, at a location that is a two minute walk from the beach with panoramic water and sky views that are different each and every day. Sunrise coffee on the front porch, sunset wine on the back deck. We visited PEI for a very special occasion, that was made even more special by the ability to stay in a home away from home. Thank you to the hosts for sharing this amazing gem!

This rental was extremely clean on arrival. The furnishings were very comfortable. The house is very large so felt our group of 8 people had more than enough space to spread out. The water and Confederation Bridge views are spectacular. We enjoyed watching the tides come and go. Beach area is right there to enjoy. Quiet area. Amenities very close by. Large deck area with hot tub. Lots of outdoor furnishings to share and enjoy. Definitely would recommend this rental to anyone who is interested.

Our new favourite place to visit! We loved exploring (part of) the Island and the gorgeous landscapes along the shores. But Blue Heron was our most favourite place. We all loved the tide pools and discovering shells, crabs and snails at low tide. Listening to the waves rushing in from the serenity of the back deck or walking along the sands. The House itself was perfect for our family (6 adults, 4 kids pre-teen and teen). Everyone had a comfortable bed and bathroom. We appreciated all the provisions. All we needed was food and drink. The location was ideal for day trips to places like Cavendish, Brackley (highly recommend Dunes Art Studio), New Glasgow (Lobster dinner and PEI preserves!) North Rustico, Charlottetown, Souris and Basin Head.

Great place for large family holiday. Short walk to a lovely beach for the kids to run on in shallow water at low tide. Very clean. Easy check in and communication with host.

Such a great place, with so many amenities and extra touches, and in a really nice location for all you want to do in PEI. Our group was large (10) and diverse, complete with three elderly parents, and four teenagers. This place had something for everyone. Each bedroom feels like its own hotel room, complete with private bath, and the basement was perfect for our kids to have their own space and time on their own. The pinball machine was a nice bonus and a big hit, and the hot tub was great too. The area is really nice and convenient. The local Borden-Carlton community has lots of neat places to eat and grab necessities, and you are 25 minutes to Summerside and within an hour of Charlottetown, Cavendish, and many other island favorites. The neighbourhood is fun too, with great views of the bridge and ocean waves from the deck, and a 30 second walk to what is almost a large private beach in medium to low tide with firm red sand bar that is great for walking out from shore.Lastly, Sheldon was fantastic at answering messages right away and was super helpful with suggestions and making sure we had everything we need. We can't recommend this place enough, and hope to return soon!
